"I was spending some on my groceries, gas, things to get me by each week, but also was spending it on trips to Target for clothing or stupid stuff that I didn’t need to buy," Jordan recounted. She further revealed, "I used credit cards and spending to give me that dopamine hit and help me through that time."

At the close of last year, total U.S. household debt, comprising housing costs, credit cards, car loans, and student loans, reached an unprecedented $18.8 trillion. "It’s hard for me to think beyond too much because I just feel like if I put too much pressure on myself for more than I already am, it’s like I literally crumble," she stated.

Jordan admits that her financial literacy has been largely self-taught, stating, "it’s all been learning as I go." She recalled a pivotal moment, "When I first was on TikTok is when I first — in my almost 40 years of life — heard about a Roth IRA." Jordan has established clear financial milestones to maintain momentum. Her immediate objective is to pay off $25,000 of her student debt by October of this year. Looking further ahead, she aims to accumulate her first $100,000, distributed between her retirement fund and a high-yield savings account. To date, Jordan has successfully put aside over $13,000 combined in these accounts.
