James Paul Gracey, a junior accounting major, was last seen at Shoko, a beachfront nightclub in Villa Olimpica, on Tuesday, according to his parents, Taras and Therese Gracey. His body was discovered at Somorrostro Beach around 6 p.m. local time on Thursday, Catalan police reported. At the time of his disappearance, Gracey was wearing a white shirt, dark pants, and a chain with a gold rhinestone cross.

Gracey was with a group of friends at the club, but they became separated, and that was the last time they saw him, according to Cavin McLay, the president of the university’s Theta Chi fraternity. McLay, who is currently in Barcelona, stated that he was not staying with the same group of friends as Gracey. Police in Barcelona received a call about a possible disappearance in the Port Olímpic area around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, and Gracey's parents became concerned after receiving a call that his phone had been picked up.
